-away in a fishbowl-
away in a fishbowl, no castle for him,
my little pet goldfish must float there and swim.
i love my dear goldfish as you can well see,
he lives off a diet of flakes of algae.
i got my pet goldfish when i was just eight,
a prize from the state fair, our meeting was fate.
i thought he'd die soon but was surely surprised-
my lovely little fishy grew to a great size.
dear ping, he lived long, until age eleven
when naught but catastrophe stoled him to heaven
i long for his presence and wish for his love
but now he is happy in some place above.
