So.

There were two chickadees who both wrote fanfiction, and their names were Len and Kendra A, respectively. They both wrote Buffy fanfiction, as a matter of fact. They both wrote Willow/Spike fanfiction, and they got to reading each other's work and they got to liking it, and so one day one of them IMed the other, and they got to talking, and then they were friends.

They complimented each other, commiserated about BtVS Season Six (because, come on, look at it), and recommended other people's fics. And then one day Len took to writing Harry Potter fanfiction, and Kendra A read it and said, "Hello! That's pretty good!" and took to reading some more, although Kendra tends toward the slashy side of things more than Len does.

And so these two chickadees went about their business for another half a year or so, tossing fic recommendations about and telling jokes with Douglas Adams and Monty Python punchlines, until one day Kendra A was browsing about online and reflecting on how many random websites she had when really she only used one, and she poked about Len's websites (Len had one each for her Harry Potter, Buffy, The Mummy and West Wing fanfiction), and Kendra A said, "Why do we bother?" And so she thought (it took a while, because she generally doesn't use her brain much) and then she said, "Hello! Why not combine sites?"

So she emailed Len and put the question to her, and Len said, "Hello! Why not, indeed?" (except maybe not in those precise words), and so the collaboration began.
