BIOGRAPHY


Stephanie Zachrich is known for her "warm rich" sound and genuine delivery of text in song.

She began singing at age 5 in her church choir and developed a love of music as worship and performance. She was a member of The Columbus Children's Choir under the direction of Dr. Sandy Mathias for 6 seasons and sang solos around the greater Columbus area as well as with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra's Holiday Pops. At age 12, Stephanie performed in the National tour of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" in Columbus as part of the children's ensemble.

Throughout highschool she sang in The Columbus Youth Chorale and with her high school choir ensembles and musicals. She also performed vocal jazz pieces with her school jazz band and orchestra. She also played mellophone and French horn.

Stephanie attended Northwestern University's School of Music to study voice and opera in 2001, and received her Bachelor of Music in June of 2005. Stephanie was previously a member of Northwestern University Chorale, and Northwestern University Chorus both under direction of Dr. Robert Harris. Her performance experience also includes a recital at Northwestern University's Lutkin Hall, (May 2005) and had appeared in many operas in Chicago and Northwestern University including as Suor Infermiera in Puccini's Suor Angelica, Sister Mathilde in Poulenc's The Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Le nozze di Figaro, Falstaff, and a live radio broadcast on WNUR of Dido and Aneas, as the Second Witch. She also greatly enjoys oratorio, and has performed as the alto soloist for The Messiah (Dec 2004), and selected solos for Judas Maccabaeus. She currently is a cantor at First United Methodist Church of Evanston. Now as a graduate of the Bachelor program in Voice at Northwestern University, she lives and sings in Chicago.
