Tristyn Strobe
DJO Apprentice

Tristyn Strobe was born in a refugee camp on the world of Naboo. He was, however, no ordinary child. He is actually a clone of his brother, Trevan. In an experimental procedure, Trev’s DNA was encoded into a fertilized egg, which was then taken by his mother. She carried Tristyn as if he was a natural child, not wanting him to be grown in a tube. Because of his genetic makeup, he is as much a son of Dreven Strobe as Trev was. And, because of his genetics, his strength in the Force was a predestined conclusion.

Upon his birth, a group of scientists based on Naboo began a series of tests and experimental procedures on Tristyn. One of the procedures took Tristyn’s natural connection to the Force and combined it with an highly experimental chemical treatment to increase the aging process. It worked. The experiment managed to increase Tristyn’s aging to a point where he would age 3.5 years for every standard year. The effects were meant to wear off when he reached the appearance of an 18-year-old, but only stopped after he achieved the appearance of a 21-year-old man.

An added side affect to the experiment was increased intelligence and learning ability. He didn’t just read material, he absorbed it. By the time of his 3rd natural birthday, he had achieved the appearance of an 11-year-old child and had a firm grasp of physics and astro-navigation. Around this time, he also began tuning his connection with the Force and training in a number of arts. His primary instructor was an old man who had been granted the rare opportunity of receiving training from the Aing-tii monks. The man passed as much of this instruction along to Tristyn as he could.

There were other instructors as well, teachers in the areas of strategy and tactics, hand to hand combat, and gymnastics. At the advanced age of 13, he built his lightsaber, choosing an ice-blue blade that matched his brother’s. And at the age of 18, he was assigned to a covert group whose job was extracting refugees from planets taken by the Vong. It was a small 3-man group, comprised of Oakley Shades, a freighter pilot and sometimes smuggler, and Justan Oth Ersock, former information broker turned legitimate business man. Justan eventually went on to start Dark Star Enterprises and made Tristyn a major stockholder.

Tristyn had never developed an affinity for energy weapons beyond his lightsaber. Blasters or rifles just weren’t his thing. He did however excel with knives, whether it was in hand to hand combat, or throwing, he couldn’t miss. So, he made knives his weapon of choice, carrying a bandolier of throwing knives over his shoulder, along with at least one dagger and several concealed knives on his person whenever he went into a hostile environment.

After a year helping refugees on the rim, Tristyn returned home to Naboo and was told by his brother he had located their father, Dreven, who had been believed killed in the destruction of Troszen. It was with this news that the brothers set out to Corellia for a reunion of sorts. For, even though Tristyn had been conceived by science, he had always been told that Dreven was his true father and his mother had told stories of how great his father was.

Upon reaching Corellia, the brothers split up for a while before they were to go meet up with their father. Unfortunately, that meeting was bittersweet, Tristyn met up with his father at the CCC, but when they went to the DJO mansion looking for Treven, they were met with the horrible news that Treven had been killed by the ruthless Damon Blade, a former student of Grifter Storm who was wreaking havoc on the DJO at the time. Shortly after this, Dreven was killed by Damon Blade in a duel when he was betrayed by his own half-sister Catrina Cross.

Tristyn was taken in by the DJO upon his father’s death and remained on Corellia, rather than returning to his mother on Naboo. He continued training and would take extended trips into the mountains of one of the remote continents on Corellia to meditate and re-center himself.

Recently, on one such trip, Tristyn awoke to discover that his connection with the Force no longer existed. He approaches this new obstacle the same way he has approached every other test that has been placed before him in his life, with acceptance, resigned to the fact that he will either regain his connection to the Force, or he won’t. Regardless of whether or not the connection returns, he continues to train, and he waits for the day when he can exact revenge on Catrina Cross, who he blames for his father’s death. He knows that even without the Force, he is a formidable foe, thanks to his strength and agility and the lessons learned through life. Fighting Vong for a year teaches a person well how to survive without the Force.
