Chapter 19

After that life calmed down a bit. Andrew left town without threatening
either of us again. Whitney had gigs about every other night, I continued
drawing and creating new outfits. On a whim I conceived an idea for a set of
outfits for the boys. They would be mostly black leather with personal touches
for each. For example I thought that Nick’s would be the most modest, after all
he was the group heartthrob he had a younger fan base that I didn’t really want
to corrupt. And I drew Howie’s simple yet somehow fitting to his quiet and
sensitive personality. I thought Kevin’s needed to show some arms, and
possibly some abs, just because I thought he needed to have a rough streak in
him. The others I still wasn’t sure on, simply because I was going to confer with
Whitney about Brian’s and I didn’t want to even think about AJ, it was too
revolting.

“Bobbi!” Whitney called bouncing in the door after one of her shows.

“Yeah,” I said looking up from my design table in the corner, it’s
overhead lamp casting a ring of light around me.

“There was a talent scout at Freidreich’s tonight!” she said. Freidreich’s
being the club she had performed at earlier. “He said he’d like me to audition
for a commercial tomorrow. During the day of course.”

“Sweet! Do you want me to come with you? I will. I can even make you
a new outfit for it if you want,” I offered, I had a few designs in mind for her
anyway.

“If you want, but you don’t have to make me an outfit, I’d like to wear
the little business suit thing of yours. You know, the pinstriped one.”

“Oh go ahead, just take my clothes!” I said mocking her as I walked
over to the closet pulling out the outfit she’d mentioned and tossing it in her
direction. The business suit was maroon with little white stripes up and down it.
The skirt was a little short, but oh well, my taste is a little on the edgy side.
Anyway, I had the perfect shoes, which I dug out of their box and threw to her
as well.

“So, you’re gonna accompany me as what? My agent? You might be
able to pull it off,” she said chuckling at my appearance of baggy navy blue tear
aways and cropped white tank top.

“I’ll wear a pantsuit or something,” I muttered, “I can be your personal
assistant, which you can tell them is sorta like your agent. I plan, I approve, and
I deal with the problems. You know, the whole agent deal.”

“Alright. Well, the audition is at nine this morning, so we’ve only got a
few hours to goof off before we go and try to make a career for me,” she said
happily.

“Hey! Let’s call Brian and Kevin and see what they’re up to! They’ll
want to know.”

“Alright. I’ll call Brian first,” she said picking up the phone and dialing
the numbers rapidly.

“Brian…It’s Whitney… Yeah I know. Sorry for waking you
up…Anyway I wanted to tell you that I have an audition to sing in a
commercial…Yeah! Isn’t it great? I’m totally stoked… I understand. I’ll be
careful, I’m taking Bobbi with me, and I’m not going alone… All right.
Anyway, can Bobbi talk to Kevin now…Bye! I miss you!” She took the phone
away from her ear and looked at me, “Here, Kevin’s on his way. He just got in
from a club.” Whitney went into the bathroom to brush her teeth and make sure
she was going to look presentable.

	“Hi?”

	“Yeah. It’s Bobbi.”

	“I know. What’s up?”

“Nothin much. I came up with a few new designs and of course I bet you
now know that Whitney just got herself an audition to sing on a commercial. I
think it’s a good start. Anyway, what’s new with you? I haven’t talked to you in
a few weeks.”

“Well, we’re already starting work on the new album, it’s going really
well. I might even have a song on it. On a more amusing note, the last Meeting
Brian and I went to got crazy because we had some fans. That wasn’t good.
They practically mobbed us,” he said laughing slightly, “Maybe you guys can
come down to Florida this winter and watch our last concert of the tour. It’ll be
in Orlando. I can save you passes.”

“That sounds cool, if our schedule permits I’d love to. Obviously Brian
hasn’t told Whitney about this?”

“Yeah. He kinda wanted to surprise her.”

“Well, you’ve come to the right place. I can get her down there no
sweat. But please don’t get us the tickets, she’ll know something’s up if we get
front row, I’ll get the seats myself.”

“Great. Hey, I gotta go, I’ll talk to you some time in the future ok?”

“Yeah, have a great day. Bye.”

	“Bye.”

I smiled. It was going to be fun to make Whitney’s day by taking her
down to see the Boys. She missed Brian so much, and I was beginning to hate
when the phone bill came. Oh well, I guess it’s just something I had to deal
with.
