these photo's what right before the
holidays? And I'm just now getting
around to putting them up?? Bad

appreciate them, she was a bit concerned
that they were not a bit clearer, but
if and when they do come out say in
the Irish Dancing Magazine or something
its no problem to replace them. Shoot
I"m happy as a clam to get them. THANK
YOU LIBBY!!
Michael Flatley & Maureen O'Hara
Thanks to Brownie's Post on the
VB, this morning, I"m just going to put
it up here, as she describes so well
what is going on, here (G)...
Being confined to bed these
days... I have been watching a lot of TV
-- and I caught MICHAEL on "Out of
Ireland" Saturday morning. Well, MICHAEL
was LOVELY -- as usual! His award and
small interview afterward took about 5-6
minutes, but it was lovely all the same!
He was dressed in a midnight blue tuxedo
(not the usual black...) which had satin
lapels and a matching bowtie. They
opened with a very nice tribute to him
and said, "With Riverdance, Lord of the
Dance, and now, Feet of Flames, Michael
Flatley has done more than any
individual in the twentieth century to
insure that Irish Step Dancing will be
practiced and enjoyed for many
generations to come." Then they showed a
very nice clip from Lord Of the Dance
that ended with his image frozen
mid-leap, and kept the image up on the
screen as he came up to accept the
award. (Standing O, BTW!!!), and he came
up took his award, said "Thank You", and
posed for pictures. (It wasn't an
"Acceptance Speach" kind of ceremony --
other people did the talking to "honor"
the winners.) But then, they cut to a
small interview he gave after the
dinner/ceremony where he spoke of his
pride at being Irish, and how more had
to be done to honor the hard work of the
anonymous Irish who faced hardship, and
endured bigotry to pave the road that
made it possible for him and people like
him to achieve all they had achieved in
the name of Ireland. (So, humble, and so
MICHAEL. How can people see this kind of
behavior, and hear this kind of thing
come out of his mouth again and again,
and only speak of his EGO? It just never
ceases to amaze me!) And, I have to say,
HE LOOKED SO TIRED! His poor eyes were
puffy! -- and he seemed to have a hard
time looking into the lights of the TV
cameras, so he looked down a bit as he
was interviewed which made him appear
uncharcteristically SHY as he spoke
about those anonymous Irishmen that came
before him.... it was very touching. The
rest of the special was wonderful as
well, with people like Maureen O'Hara,
Gregory Peck, George Mitchell, The
Clancy Brothers, and John F. Kennedy
honored in their individual fields,
along with some wonderful footage of
their careers. It was very nice. As I
said, it was a segment about 5-6 minutes
long, and at the very beginning of the
show (HE was the first honoree), but he
rest of the show was wonderful!
