A ROAD AND A WILL
TVB's own review: A drama depicting the struggle of Ti (Cheng Tan Shui), a senior executive in Hong Kong who has been laid off unexpectedly, in starting a business in Guangzhou. Ti was torn apart when his wife, Chi (Lau Sin Yee) prompted him with a divorce after he lost his job. Distressed, he decided to go to Guangzhou for a new start and retracts his ancestral house. There, he lands in a dispute with a local merchant called Ngai (Lai Yiu Cheung). Fortunately, with the help of Chi's cousin, Fung (Cheung Ho Yee), Ti and Ngai finally come to terms with each other.
The story then goes on to portray the change of attitude of Ti towards the people in Guangzhou from prejudice to appreciation and harmony.
REVIEW
I saw this series not too long ago, so I have it pretty fresh in my mind. I found it very good, with comedy and compassion. Carlo's character was funny, playing the son who never does anything for himself and only relies on his family's money. Kinda reminds me of Stephen Chow sing-chi's character in All Well's the Ends Well, which is a great movie. Though, Carlo, didn't appear much in this series, when he did come on, the series had more life. And, I'm not saying that just because I'm his fan.
