A heartthrob to teen-age girls everywhere, David Cassidy became a teen idol overnight as Keith Partridge in the hit '70's TV series "The Partridge Family". He launched his singing career as the lead vocal of a fictional family group, bringing him instant fame and success. He is now a mature rock singer/songwriter who has moved eons beyond his earlier bubblegum image.

Concert Reports

June 14: Red Bank, New Jersey

I'm glad to report that David was terrific tonight! He wore a shiny red shirt tucked into tight jeans, and rocked the Count Basie.  After opening with "Heartbeat", of course, he went right into "Hush" -- and if you haven't heard him do that one in concert, you're in for a treat.  I was also happy to hear him do "Point Me In The Direction Of Albuquerque", since that's one of my all-time favorites.  He had trouble with his right sleeve -- couldn't get it buttoned right, and with it unbuttoned, it kept getting stuck in his guitar strings, so he finally rolled it up, and rolled the other one up as well.  He kept fiddling with his sleeves much of the night, really.  Also, fans passed memorabilia up to the stage, and it was a real kick to see him hold up an original picture sleeve of "Cherish", for instance, a green "Keith Partridge" bubblegum card, and finally -- the Rolling Stone cover in all its glory!  I loved his version of "I Saw Her Standing There", but he didn't do much of "Gimme Shelter" -- just a little immediately after his intro of the band.

Security was very tough and strict, so although I was in the fourth row, I wasn't able to go up and get a handshake or anything -- but that was okay, because our seats were great.  Again, Barbara P. did an excellent job for Just David fan club members.

I'm not really terrific at these concert reports, because I don't take notes or anything like some fans -- just soak it all in, and details will come back to me later.  I just wanted to let you all know what an excellent show he did, and how well he did the new material.  He plays a rockin' guitar solo during "Hush".  That was an excellent choice for him.

I also was at the show tonight... I thought it was excellent... The crowd was really into him tonight... Almost everyone was standing for many of his songs. Althought during ITILY some woman ran and stage and grabbed him. She was quickly taken away kicking by some security guards. But the rest of the show was awesome. He had the tightest black pants on and the red shirt was awesome. It was really bugging him with the sleeves. He said something about it being so annoying he wanted to bite off his arm... I missed the first 2 songs though because parking was TERRIBLE there. We had 2 park like 3 blocks away... I am sure I will have a better account but I am a bit sleepy...

June 15: Dover, Delaware

Just got back from Dover. The place was beautiful. I was in the lobby and saw a limo pull up and David got out so I got 2 pics of him getting out of the limo. He had a NYPD baseball cap on and Jeans. I was the first one in line for the show. The people
working there hadn't a clue as to what to do. They moved the line and they divided the one in 2 and some people that got there at 6 were in the front. When we got in the theatre the tables in the front were reserved for VIP's so we had to get in the second
row of tables we argued with them but got no where. After the show started there were 2 empty seats at one of the front tables so I asked the lady there if we could move up and she said of course, so Donna and I got to the front table. When David came out he was awesome, but he needed a shave, though his whiskers were cute. LOL While he was singing a song some lady put towels at his feet and he didn't notice. Later he said" who put these towels here?" and I said I did. LOL He was
handing me a towel and everyone started saying in wasn't her, so we had a tug-of-war with the towel and he won. So I said "it was the lady in the red sweater that gave you the towels" so he gave the towel to her. Later when he shook my hand he said "see if you don't lie to me I'll shake your hand" He had this big grin on his face. After the concert  David had left a bottle of water on the stage so I asked a worker on the stage to hand me the bottle of water, I didn't get the towel, but I got the water. LOL

The Dover concert was AWSUM !!!!!!!!!! Can he get any better?? He was in the greatest mood, and I got to hear him do HUSH for the first time, Totally GREAT !! Now I can tell my brother that my idol did his idols song ! He loves Deep Purple !
There were a couple tables with girls that had banners One said "I think I love you" and he acknowledged them alot, and then they held up one that said "I"ll meet you Halfway" and he acknowledged that too. There was one table with some old men, who were just sitting there, brain dead, and he actually got down off the stage and went over to their table and kind of cutting them up, saying, ("Now come on you can't be THAT bored, Here's how you clap, watch me (in slow motion) it's not that hard to do, the whole place laughing hysterically, He was really having fun with them. Patty said one older man got up and left a couple minutes later ! Well we thought it was funny, anyway !!!!!!!! At another point, he said "ok, here's for all you guys  out there, who are sitting there because you HAVE to" and he was in his kidding around mood, saying "I know what you're thinking, under his breath in that joking voice, "oh, shit, I have to sit here through this guys concert with my wife or girlfriend" or Something like that ! Can't remember his exact words, It' was too funny ! He was touching hands and interacting alot. The place had no idea what they were doing as far as seating people, and there were NINE tables reserved for the high rollers, so we all tried to argue with the ladies that we've been there since the afternoon, it was totally unorganized, we got put in the back tables, but after the show started, Nadine and I got to move up, and then Patty and Dawn got to move to our seats, it was like playing checkers, LOL so we were all pretty close to the stage after all. And of course during Rock me baby, and I think I love you we got to the stage, and  I got two genuine handshakes with that gorgeous smile looking right at me !! OMG,  and during "Cherish" I pointed at him, and he pointed right at me, I will never forget that, he pointed at me a couple times , one of those "Hey I think I remember you" and Yes, I know you , with that familiar glance, and I just melted !!!!!!!! They were my own special David moments !!! A couple of girls to the right must have been pulling too hard, and he said "DON"T PULL" (Good for you David) ! He noticed a book, which had a big picture of him on the front, and he said "Is that your book? It was Nadines' but we had moved closer up to another table, and Patty and Dawn were sitting in those seats and they were just laughing, I tried pointing to Nadine and telling him "It's HER book" and he said "then what's it doing over there on that table??? Or something like that, We were all laughing ! We laughed with him alot. There were alot of funny moments, along with the tug of war with the towel, LOL  !! I forget what song it was, but he hit himself in the face with the microphone !! LOL but the professional that he is, and so natural, goes right on singing !!! LOL He did Hollywood Nights for an oncore, he blew the place apart ! David looked gorgeous as usual, and his hair kept falling down on his forehead, he kept fixing it, we wished he would just LEAVE IT ALONE, we LOVE IT !!!!!!!

Just wanted to post my DC Dover story, still in the biggest DC fog, and we need another concert SOON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
