Jimmy

The dark eyes eclipsed by the spotlight
The one red button on his beige shirt
Was it accidental?
A coke sitting on the stool
Beads of sweat On the red aluminum
Constant gathering of water
Reflects when the light hits
The slick of his brow
Pacing the wooden floor
His thin pink lips flicker a half smile
His eyes
Darting nervously from one side to the other
And then
For only a second
Mine catch his
From across the stage
I smile and he returns it
warmly
And it doesn’t matter that I don’t really know him
Only that I am here and so is he.
