In case you were wondering what lifetime Yankee fan and Brooklyn native Jimmy Fallon was doing kissing Drew Barrymore and dancing around on the field at Busch Stadium in St. Louis with the celebrating Red Sox World Series champs Wednesday night -- here's the scoop:
The two stars were filming ''Fever Pitch,'' a new movie about an obsessive Red Sox fan, directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly -- based on a novel by Nick Hornby (High Fidelity, About a Boy).
According to Roger Friedman of foxnews.com, Hornby's original book was about a guy crazy for a pro soccer team in Britain, but the sport changed to baseball when it was optioned by the American filmmakers.
An earlier ''Fever Pitch'' flick was made in 1997 (following the soccer storyline) and starred Colin Firth.
