Higher Ground
Higher Ground is the new family drama featured on the Fox Family
Channel. It is also where I first discovered a talented actor named
Hayden Christensen. Just so y'all know, this isn't some psycho fan
site. I really enjoyed the first few episodes of this show, solely based
on the fact that it is an extraordinary experience to watch this
kid act. He just came up out of nowhere, and it's very rare that you
find such an actor, at such a young age. Believe me, he is going on to
bigger and better things.
Scott Barringer
Hayden plays the part of Scott, a troubled teen involved in drugabuse. The underlying horror of it all is that he has kept to himself
a tormenting secret. A sexually abusive relationship had developed at home
between he and his seductive stepmother, whom he refers to as his father's
"trophy wife". He tries to berate her to his father, without having
let on his secret. His plans of deliverance work to no avail, so he turns to the
more and more to drugs and theft. His grades drop, and he loses his coveted spot on
the school football team. With nowhere else to turn, he is eventually sent to Horizons,
an outdoor, middle-of-nowhere school, where he learns to cope with his
addiction. But if he keeps his home life a secret for long, the need
for a release will never go away.
