Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York

The Basics

Biography:

Sarah Ferguson is the younger daughter of Major Ronald Ferguson and Mrs. Susan Barrantes. She was born on October 15, 1959 and was christened Sarah Margaret Ferguson. She has one older sister named Jane and the two of them attended boarding school together. Sarah was not happy there and she eventually graduated Queen's Secretarial College at 18. While she was at school her parents divorced and she, with her sister, lived with her father. Maj. Ferguson eventually remarried and had three more children. After graduating she began working in a public relations firm in London. While there she became popular with the London crowd, meeting Prince Andrew. The two would fall in love and they Married on July 23, 1986. The couple have two daughters, Beatrice, born on August 8, 1990 and Eugenie, born in March of 1990. This marriage did not work out and the two seperated in 1992 and divorced in 1996. Fergie still lives at Sunnighill Park with Andrew and they spend a lot of time together. This summer they even went together to the royal birthday bash at Windsor Castle. Fergie has kept herself busy writing childrens books called "Budgie the Helicopter", working for Weight Watchers, and becoming a special correspondent for NBC News. She and Andrew may eventually get remarried but for right now they are just caring for their young daughters.
