Chapter One

This story takes place in normal Passions time. It was started on May 13,
2000. It surrounds the characters: Ivy, Julian, Sam, Jessica, Kay and
Tabitha. Other characters are also included, though.

Julian closed his eyes and lay back in his chair. He turned up the classical
music from the old radio. Julian was too deep into the music to hear the
door open up. The person from outside walked quietly and carefully to his
desk. They went around to where Julian was and placed thir hands over his
eyes.

Julian jumped and clasped the person's hands, and removed them. "Ivy?"
He asked, when he saw his wife standing there smiling. "What on earth? What,
what do you want."

Ivy sat down on his desk and crossed her legs. "Well, I was thinking that
maybe you and I," she paused and took a breath, "Could maybe, uh, get
married again?"

Julian choked on the brandy he had been calmly sipping. "Could you repeat
yourself, darling, I thought you said-"

"Renew our vows. Have another wedding." Ivy smiled.

Julian felt flattered, but only for a moment. He grinned and stood up to
Ivy's height. "Ivy, you know very well that neither of us honor our vows,
and I am not even allowed to touch you. So why don't you spare me the
trouble and money, and tell me what is going on in that twisted head of
yours."

Ivy turned away and didn't say anything.

"Ah, huh. So there is some little plan you've been working on." Julian slyly
grinned, and sipped more of his brandy.

Ivy gulped and turned quickly around. She pulled Julian to her and kissed
him. Julian didn't resist, but kissed her back. Ivy finally broke away and
whispered, "Can't I have been wrong about my husband after all these years?"

Days had gone by and Sam and Grace were seated at their kitchen table. Kay
came bounding in the door, with Jessica and Simone close behind her.

"Slow down! Where's the fire." Sam joked as the girls threw their bags down.

"Was school that bad, you had to come racing home?" Grace said, pouring the
girls some milk.

Kay caught her breath and sat down at the table. "Mom, Dad, you are not
going to believe what just happened!" Kay drank some milk and continued, "We
were getting out of school, and the Crane limo was outside-"

"Mrs. Crane got out and she asked Kay if she would like to be a bridesmaid!"
Simone finished.

Sam had to remind himself to keep breathing. "Kay is going to be a
bridesmaid at a Crane wedding."

"Oh, I'm so glad Sheridan has finally found someone to love her." Grace said
smiling.

Kay shook her head. "It's not Sheridan's weding. It's Ivy's."

"Ivy can't get married." Sam yelled out more to himself than anyone else.

Grace looked at her husband in question.

"Because, she's already married to Julian. I'd hate to see what their
divorce is going to be like." Sam corrected himself, and Grace smiled.

"Ivy and Julian are getting married again." Jessica said. "Probably another
Crane publicity stunt."

"Jessica Megan Bennett. What have told you before. The Cranes are good
people, and I really like Ivy." Grace said, dissapointed in her youngest
daughter. "I'm perfectly sure that the Cranes are getting married again
because they want a chance to show the world how much they love eachother."

Jessica appologized, and Kay continued with her story. "So, Ivy asked me to
send one of you over to the mansion to talk to her about the wedding plans
and my role! Mom, dad can you go see her tomorrow?"

Sam uncomfortably looked out the window onto Harmony's early summer sky.

"Oh, I would love to go see Ivy tomorrow, but I have to help set up the
carnival for next week." Grace smiled and took the empty glasses of milk.

Sam didn't want to go to the mansion and see Ivy, but he knew that if he
went he could ask Ivy not to include his daughter in the service. Poison Ivy
obviously has something up her sleeve.

"Dad... Dad? You there." Kay asked taking her father's hands.

"Yeah. I'll go see Ivy for you."

Kay and Simone got up from the tale and ran upstairs. A distant 'Thanks dad'
came from the living room.

Jessica frowned and got up from the table. "Why not me." She quietly walked
back outside and sat on the bench. People were busily carrying things back
and forth from the Harmony Pier, where the carnival was to be held. She saw
Pilar and Luis with some canvas and waved.

Jessica was about to head back inside when Tabitha carrying Timmy came up
from behind her.

"You alright, my dear?" The excentric neighbor asked.

"Oh. Tabitha, hello." Jessica paused and thought for a moment. "I'm fine."

"I heard your dear sister is going to be in the Crane wedding." Tabitha
smiled.

Jessica was shocked for a moment and then angily returned, "How'd you know
about that. Well, yeah Kay is going to be one of Ivy's bridesmaids."

"You would have liked to be in that wedding?"

"No." Jessica lied.

"Will be a big wedding."

"Yeah but anything to do with the Cranes is big."

Tabitha grinned and continued. "Kay sure is going to be popular after it.
It's good you two don't have any sister rivalry, or else you may have been
jealous."

Jessica slammed her foot on the ground and walked to the gate. "I have to be
somewhere tabitha, I'll see you later." Jessica walked out the gate, and
Tabitha was alone with Timmy.

"Timmy's Princess was very mean to Jessica." The doll cried out. "Timmy
thinks Tabby hurt Jessica's feelings."

"Well, Tabby knows she hurt her feelings. But that was the point Tim-Tim."
Tabitha smiled. "You see, earliar I found out about Ivy and Julian's
wedding-"

"But Timmy thought Ivy and Julian were already married and they hated
eachother."

"They do. Which is why I love this situation. I don't know for sure what Ivy
is up to, but I think it has to do with Sam, or else she wouldn't have asked
Kay to be in the wedding. Jessica is upset because she is always the least
important daughter. Grace even cares more about Charity than she does her."

Timmy looked up at his princess. "Where is Tabby going with this?"

Tabitha set Timmy down and looked out at the pedestrians carrying supplies.
"Jessica will play a key role in unravelling the carefully sewn quilt called
The Bennett Family."

Sheridan entered Julian's bedroom and flicked on the light. Julian groaned
and hid under the blankets. Sheridan went over to her brother and removed
the blanket. Julian looked up at her and growled. "Sheridan, what gives you
the right to-" He looked at the clock. "Come in here at 7 in the morning!?
Get out of here and give me my blanket."

Sheridan narrowed her eyes and moved the blanket farther away. "Pilar just
told me that you are marrying Ivy, again!"

Julian smiled and sat up. He pulled on his robe. "Yes, isn't she wonderful."

Sheridan put her hands on her hips and continued to glare. "You two hate
eachother. Are you blackmailing her back into your life, because if you are
I will find out and you will be one dead man."

"Give it up Sheridan."

"Give what up?" She asked.

"Trying to make me always seem like a scum. Ivy and I have found new love in
our marriage."

"Ivy hates you, and she has good right to. so whatever you are doing to her
stop-"

"He's not doing anything to me, Sheridan." Ivy had arrived. She walked over
to her husband and kissed him. "Good morning."

An embarrassed Sheridan turned away. "Ivy, I..."

"It's okay Sheridan, dear, you were wrong." Julian said smuggly. "Just like
you are always wrong with your choices of men." He turned to Ivy and smiled.
"Darling, how about I have Pilar bring up some breakfast?"

Sheridan began to walk out the room when Ivy called for her. "Sheridan. I
want you to be in our wedding."

Sheridan faked a smile, and then left.

After their breakfast Ivy got up.

"Where are you going?" Julian asked, not wanting her to leave.

"I have a meeting with one of the Bennetts." She said throwing on a robe.

"Bennetts? Ivy, have you gone mad, why?"

"I asked Katherine to be a bridesmaid in the wedding."

"Katherine Bennett? Oh, Ivy, you have more taste than that. She is a
middle-class teenager. And this- this is the wedding of the year. Alistair
won't allow it."

Ivy sat back down with her husband. "Alistair better allow it, or," She
stroked Julian's face seductively, "There will be no wedding. I want to give
this girl a chance at life. Now if you'll excuse me I have lots to do
today."

Ivy left Julian alone and he covered his face with a pillow. "Father isn't
going to like this."

******************************************************************

Downstairs in the mansion, noon time had roled around. Ivy poured herself a
celebratory glass of wine and put on her favourite song. The tune of Just
The Way You Are softly played in the background.

"I don't like what you are doing, Mrs. Crane." Pilar said coming up behind
her. "You are playing a dangerous game. One you will not win."

"Pilar!" Ivy said surprised. She quickly shut off the music.

"Mr. Crane may think you have fallen back in love with him, but I know
better."

"You know better than to trust me, is that what you're saying Pilar?"

Pilar shook her head. "I know better than to put anything passed you. My
youngest son, Miguel, told me Kay is going to be in your wedding. Kay is
Sam's daughter."

Ivy frowned. "Thank you Pilar, like I already didn't know that." She sipped
her wine a little. "Kay will look very nice at my wedding. She is the
perfect height, and-"

"And you want to get at Sam Bennett." Pilar said pulling at Ivy's locket and
opening it. Sam's face shined from within. "But I can see you are not going
to admit to anything so I will leave you alone."

After Pilar had left, Ivy turned the song back up. She didn't even hear the
doorbell ring, so Sam let himself in. He walked int he living room and saw
Ivy peacefully sitting alone.

"Ivy?" He asked.

Ivy looked up at him and wiped a tear fromher eye, that didn't go unnoticed
by him.

"Is this a bad time?"

Ivy stood up. "No. No. This must be about Kay?"

Sam sat down. "Yes. Umm. You want her to be a bridesmaid, because-" but Sam
couldn't get the strength to give Ivy another lecture about keeping away
from his family. She was marrying Julian, again. He didn't want to have to
see it another time. He didn't want to talk about it so he just made his way
to the front door. "She's really looking forward to it. Call Grace about any
dress fittings."

Ivy sadly went back to listening to the music. A smile crept across her
face. It was working. Eventually, Sam would be hers again. Sam would be
hers, soon.
