"The Wild Party" is a musical by Andrew Lippa, based
on the poem written by Joseph Mancure March in 1928.
It ran at the Manhattan Theatre Club at City Center
on 131 West 55th Street until April 9th.
Kevin's wonderful charactor was one of the composer
D'Armano brothers, Phil. He danced and sang throughout
the entire show, and showed off his incredible talent to
us all, as usual.
"Queenie was a blonde, and her age stood still. And
she danced twice a day in vaudeville."
According to Time Magazine (March 6th), "Few people
probably knew those lines a few weeks ago, but they are
about to become the most familiar on Broadway. They're
the opening couplet of 'The Wild Party', a book-length
narrative poem by Joseph Mancure March published in
1928."
Newsweek (March 6th) has this to say, "The MTC prod-
uction is, in fact, an explosion of youthful talent that
catures the works libidinous lyricism, like F. Scott
Fitzgerald on spanish fly."
Daily News (March 25th)
"Not since 'Rent' has there been a new musical as
sizzling, vital, and groundbreaking as "The Wild Party";
which opened last night. When the other musical version
of the same story opens on Broadway in April, it has an
incredibly hard act to follow."
