 CLEANSING OF SINS

                                                    Johnson Joseph

Romans 6:23 says for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.  The word of God in Romans 3: 23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. Even great man, like David fell to sin (2 Samuel 11: 4), Peter denied Jesus three times (Matthew 26: 70, 72, 74), Saul persecuted the church (Acts 8: 3 and Acts 9: 4, 5), but why they are great still because they acknowledged their sins and repented with God in prayer, fasting and crying. Jeremiah 33:8 says “I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned…. David in Psalm 51: 3, 4, Peter in Matthew 26: 75 and Saul in Acts 9:9. In New Testament we read, Jesus has forgiven most of the sinners, He has come into this world to save sinners and in Luke 15: 10 say “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

So, if you are a sinner and continuing in it and you want to get rid of the same. The following steps will help you:

  1.   Acknowledge your sins to God, with a true repented heart, 1 Peter 2: 24 says Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for  righteousness by whose stripes you were healed..

  2. Say No to your sins, Colossians 1: 13, 14 says He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins and John 8: 36 says “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

  3. Christ came into this world, died on the cross for your sins and you accept it John 3: 16  says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

  4. Read the word of God daily, by reading the word of God, you will be cleansed from your sins, 2 Corinthians 5: 17 says, therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Your personal relationship with Christ will strengthen you and you will be saved from your sins. John 10: 9 says, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved”.

With God, all things are possible, so be saved today, tomorrow may be too late. Because God loves you, before you could love God. God changed a sinner Saul to a righteous Paul who later on was used by God. If you are also, willing to turn away from your sins, Lamentation 3:40 says “Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the Lord;” God will use you for His kingdom. God is ready to use you. Are you ready?
