Jesus went to the synagogue in which he taught,
And on the Sabbath, which he ought,
And there was a man with a paralyzed hand.

There were some teachers of the laws,
And in Jesus they wanted to find a flaw,
But this Jesus foresaw.

Then Jesus called the man forward,
and said to the crowd that had gathered,
"Are we to help or harm on the Sabbath?"

They stared back at the holy man of Nazereth.
Then he said to the man,
"Stretch out your hand."

He did so.
And with thanks and praise, he bowed low
Jesus had healed the fellow
