Big news! Of the drop-everything type. I just got a letter from Melanie Lynskey yesterday.

Okay, I had to start a new paragraph to let you recover from the information. How did this happen ? Well I wrote to Mel a couple of weeks ago, sending her bits of the site and a few messages from the message board (yes! From you guys! Yeah I know I should have asked). So here's for you, from Mel:

"Thankyou again for all your support & please say thankyou to everyone who's gone to your site & said such nice things , & seen the movies & been so supportive."

Then there is more stuff, which I'll send by email to everyone concerned.

So more about the letter... I didn't really mention it to anyone because I didn't think Melanie would answer, in such little time what's more, and I didn't think the whole world needed to know I had written to Melanie Lynskey and she hadn't replied. But she did, and I'm still pretty much baffled by it (okay, I don't really know the meaning of baffled. What I mean to say is speechless, surprised, not-knowing-what-to-say, and very, very thankful:-)))))))))))

Her writing is perfect, so simple and pleasant to read, and funny as well (yes she does deserve all the credit she gets! Of course she should be getting more, but then again would that make her happier ? Not necessarily, so...). In case I hadn't noticed, a really good actress as well (read my HC-update on her voice, which I haven't written yet. God so much stuff needs updating now), and she's so generous to everyone, her fans, the people she's worked with... It all sound silly and flat when you say it but she just has such an authenticity. She's a great person. I'm still a little shaken up actually.

Oh, more about the message board before I leave you for updating:

"It is a strange feeling though to read about yourself. People don't really write like they expect you to read it so you feel kind of like you're eavesdropping, on yourself, and it's a bit odd, but I do appreciate people's enthusiasm."

So there. Head going round... Time for updates. And she's a lovely person. Take care, you all!
