Deep inside myself This is where I hide, To myself those many nights I lay there and I cried. Only to myself Did I let my feelings show, Never to anyone else No one could ever know. Deep inside myself Where the feelings are so strong, Lives a mournful melody- My dreary life's sad song. Only to myself Will the grief and sorrow lie, Never to the world will I show Anything but a sigh. Hide the fear and despair Beneath a happy smile, So at least the troubles seem distant, If only for a while.
