Richard Armitage, a fine young British actor, plays the part of Sir Guy of Gisborne. Although Sir Guy is ruthless, ambitious,and merciless at times, there is an undertone of compassion which he tries to hide, especially from the sheriff.

When this Sheriff of Nottingham took over, pushing Lady Marian's father out of office, Sir Guy was given Loxley Manor to administer. The manor formerly belonged to Robin of Loxley.

Richard Armitage plays this part brilliantly. Is it any wonder he is a big hit with fans?
