Phil is the one who organises all of Human Nature's vocals and harmonies, and he also sings a bit of lead vocal. He is well known among the fans for his goatee and is the only left-handed member of Human Nature.

Phil enjoys performing People Get Ready the most because he never gets tired of it and when asked what he thinks of their performances, he said "We don't consider ourselves dancers at all and we need a lot of help with that but we like to be as entertaining as we can be on stage. The dancing, the flash outfits and the great lighting is all part of putting on an entertaining show."

Some distinguishing characteristics are his pierced ears, his goatee and his weird sense of humour. Phil is certainly not a morning person, and his greatest fear from the Tour 2000 was lateness! He says "Once we were doing a show for Happy Days and we were about to go on stage but Toby wasn't there! The Sydney Superdome is massive and the dressing rooms go on for kilometres, Toby was sprinting along trying to get to the stage. I hope that doesn't happen again!"

One of Phil's greatest thrills was singing at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. He said it was great to sing in front of the world!

The best advice given to Phil was for the group to never break up. The guy who discovered the boys said, "the four of you have something very special together."
