My pre season reveiw 2001

I'd put a handsome amount of cash on Mclaren and Ferarri being top dogs again this season but the other teams will be closer. We all know the fight between Mclaren and Ferarri will be great but this year the fight for third will be even better. Williams BMW, BAR Honda, Jordan Honda, Jaguar and Benetton will all be right up there battling it out race after race.

Then there's Arrows, Sauber and Prost who have all gone for intresting driver line ups. Alain has gone for Alesi(which is fine, he's the most experienced guy on the grid) and Mazzacane. A money disision. He's covered his tracks by signing De la Rosa as test and reserve driver. Tat brings me on to Arrows. Bernoldi is a talent and i agree should have been signed but then in the decision between de la Rosa and Vertstapped they chose Vertstappen who wouldn't have been the one i'd choose. I guess they were thinking of such ruggered and determined performances as Canada last year...they must have forgot how silky smooth Pedro de la Rosa is somewhere along the way. Sauber have a young line up. They'll either be complete crap or excellent. I have no doubts about the skills of Heidfeld but Raikkonen is an inspired choise. However i would't write him of just yet.

Last but by far not the least is the Minardi team that has been bought by Paul Stoddart. He seems to have the right idea, lead driver Alonso brings no money to the team...he's just a damn good driver.
