August 18, 2002 Cincinnati is famous for many things: Skyline Chili, Pete Rose... well, I'm sure there's many others as well. On the way we kept passing signs for Skyline Chili, and Bessie wanted to stop every single time. For chili. In August. Needless to say, we didn't stop. As for Pete Rose, ever since we visited the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 2001 Bessie has been on some kind of mini-crusade to get him into the Hall of Fame. What in the world can a cow do, you ask? Nothing. That's the point. Still, she won't give up. However, it meant our visit to Cincinnati would have to include a trip to a baseball game. As you can see in the first several pictures, we walked around the city a bit. Bessie enjoyed the big bulidings. When we got near the ballpark, we found they were building a bigger and better new park to be ready for next season. Soon, poor old Cinergy Field, where Pete Rose broke so many records (and so many rules we remind our little cow) would be no more. As you can see, Bessie enjoyed her view from the stands. Unfortunaly, our day was shortened by the rain. It came in hard and we had to take cover. Bessie was convinced it was a sign from above. Something to do with Pete Rose. She wanted everyone to know, and when she demanded to be taken to the public address system we got out of there. Quick.
