Where is everyone?
The boys have been pretty scarce these past few months, and I'm really starting to miss them. They haven't put an album out since November 2000. I don't count Chapter One.......that was a time filler and it was supposed to keep us satisfied while we waited for the new album. But it's been a year and a half since they even released a single, what the fuck is the holdup? I've been breaking out the old pay-perview concert lately. I still can't get enough of that. =)
It's frustrating, because I know when they finally do get that album out, it's not going to do well. Sure I'm going to buy my two copies (one for the house, one for the car), but will anyone else be buying it? I'm guessing no. A huge portion of their fan base in 2000 was the 12-17 age group. Most of those people aren't fans anymore, I guarantee it. I can tell by all the websites that keep disappearing. Want to try and prove me wrong? Go to Backstreet.net, Click on "Random Link" See if the website it takes you to has been updated in the last two years....or if it even exists at all. Many of those people have moved onto other types of music, which is fucking pathetic, but I won't get into that right now. The point is, the album sales are not going to be what they used to. So to all of you who, like me, still enjoy their music, I suggest you get your ass a ticket for their next tour, because it's probably going to be their last tour as a group. I know.....depressing isn't it? But it's the truth.
Now onto a lighter topic: What have the boys been up to lately? Lets start with Kevin. I'm sure you've all heard he's been playing Billy Flynn in Chicago on Broadway, but what you may not know is that he's been getting fantastic reviews. People have been raving about how good he's doing, and how he blows the last Billy Flynn out of the water......granted Billy Zane played the last Billy Flynn. That assface can't act his way out of a paper bag. But yay for Kevy! I wish I could see him do the tap dance scene in the courtroom. Kevin isn't the only one who's been extremely busy. Brian and Leighanne welcomed their first half-devil-spawn into the world in December. But don't worry, I'm sure he'll get his Daddy's good looks and talent. I saw some recent pictures of Brian, and he seems to have a new little sparkle in his eye. I bet he's thrilled. My sources at Backstreet.net....no, they don't know they're my sources......my sources tell me Howie has a new woman in his life. Yay for Howie! He deserves some hapiness....or at least some sex....I haven't seen pictures of him with a woman in a few years....I can't wait to start making fun of her. Nick has been keeping busy as well. His album flopped, as I predicted it would. Personally I enjoy any of the music the boys release, so I went right out and bought his album. He could have been singing about dog shit, and I would have sang right along with him. Did anyone see him on the ABC show he guest starred on? "8 Rules for Dating My Daughter" or something like that? I saw the first episode, but missed the second. I thought he did a decent job with the acting. He wasn't terrible. Alright who's left? Oh. AJ. Yes. We all know about AJ don't we? Well just in case you haven't heard, apparently AJ and Sarah's wedding was called off because he cheated on her. That's right folks, he slept with someone else. I find it hysterical that everyone is so devastated by this. Guess what? I know you teenys might find this hard to believe but.......they are real people! They have faults, and problems, and normal issues just like all of us. I'm glad one of them finally fucked up bad enough so everyone can see that they're not perfect. Plus I'm glad one of those hotties is back on the market. He's still better than the losers I've been dating. Even knowing he cheated on his last girlfriend, I think I'd allow him to come sweep me off my feet and carry me into the sunset. Wouldn't you?
