Mariah Carey
It's a bad time to like Mariah Carey, and a worse time to be Mariah Carey; the criminally underappreciated chanteuse's run of bad luck is continuing with the underperformance of her new album Charmbracelet (and the first single from it, "Through the Rain"), not to mention her constantly being picked on by many folks who, were she to suddenly pass away, would magically transform into her biggest fans. Tossers. But if the beautiful and supremely sexy Mariah hangs in there - and I'm betting she will - things will get better. Someone who sounds and looks as good as she does will eventually come back. She definitely deserves it more than bloody Kylie Minogue...
Recommended viewing: Just about any of her music videos; plus the movies The Bachelor ("You look good with your shirt off," she tells Chris O'Donnell, "but then again so do I." No arguments from this quarter), The Prince of Egypt (she sings with Whitney bloody Houston over the closing credits), Wisegirls (though this movie isn't getting an American - and therefore not getting a British - release in cinemas) and even Glitter (not the greatest movie ever made by a long way, but diehard Carey fans may make it to the end).
