During her time on Cheers, Kirstie also picked up several film roles. Because of her popularity at the time, these films, although now deleted from the UK video catalogue, are still pretty easy to find, i comparison to her earlier movies. In 1989, Kirstie's most successful film, Look Who's Talking, was released.

Loverboy

Patrick Dempsey stars as a pizza delivery boy who 'definitely delivers'. By giving his female clients that little bit extra he makes quite a lot fo money, however this all goes wrong when one of his relatives calls the pizza place asking for 'extra anchovies'. Kirstie plays one of 'Loverboy's' women, Joyce Palmer. This title sometimes comes up on ebay, but if you can't find it, here's the trailer to keep you going.

Look Who's Talking

This, Kirstie's biggest film, also stars John Travolta (James Ubriacco) and Bruce Willis (as the voice of Mikey). Kirstie plays Mollie, an accountant who becomes pregnant after an affair with one of her high profile clients (Albert), who then dumps her for another woman. Determined to find a better father for her son, Mikey, Mollie goes on several blind dates while her babysitter, James becomes like a father to Mikey. The question is, will she realise that James is *the one* or will she go back to the slime-ball Albert. Easy watching, but a |15| because of swearing. The toddler who plays the fourth Mikey is the cutest baby ever and there is definite chemistry between the two leads. Worth watching and still available to buy at Amazon.co.uk as well as ebay. The film grossed over $100M in the states and there were two sequels, Look Who's Talking Too and Look Who's Talking Now. The trailer can be found here.

Sibling Rivalry

This was probably the first film i ever saw with Kirstie in it, and it does have it's 'Kirstie Moments', mainly the bits where she's freaking out in that Kirstie way. Anyway, the story is this: Marjorie Turner (Kirstie) narrates the story as a past event, describing at the beginning here 'perfect' but dull life as the housewife of a doctor. Having to put up with her husband's self-obsessed family begins to tip her over the edge, resulting in her taking her younger, wilder sister's advice and having an affair with a stranger she meets in the supermarket.

Unfortunately, the man, who turns out to be not so much of a stranger, has a heart-attack, leading to an amusing series of events where all the story lines all tie up together until the 'happy ending' is reached. A good film which has been sadly deleted from the UK video catalogue, meaning you'll either have to search ebay, or wait until it gets shown on tv again (it's been on C4 twice in the last five years or so). Here's the trailer.
