What type of music do you listen to? Florencia: "My favorite band is The Ottoman Bigwigs. The drummer is ferocious, the guitar player is awesome, and I'm totally in love with the lead singer. He's very funny and so sexy."

What's the worst mistake you ever made? Florencia: "Almost burning down TV-17, and in turn, Llanview". (Editor's note: Recently, Florencia accidentally started a fire in her dressing room. Thankfully, the fire was put out, and all is well in Llanview.)

Who do you enjoy working with on OLTL? Florencia: "I love working with Sandra P. Grant (Rachel). She's very spontaneous. We have a great time together".

If you couldn't play your character, who would you play? Florencia: "The first thing that leaps to mind is playing a man's role. I think Asa would be fun. He is very direct and also has a great vocabulary."

As tough-talking attorney Téa, Florencia Lozano sports power suits. But off the set, the actress's favorite item of clothing is a ratty, old sweatshirt. "It's hooded and burgundy with black paint on it," laughs Lozano. "And it's too small on me. But's there's something about it. I put it on and it's just me." The actress also gets a kick out of retro fashions. "My mom kept all her clothes from the '60s and my dad kept his grandfather's vests. I love wearing clothes that have a history." And since she's the youngest of three girls, Lozano definitely knows how to work with recycled clothing. "I have a lot of things in my closet that belonged to my sisters or friends. I'm an expert at incorporating hand-me-downs into my wardrobe!"

What are you sensitive about that would surprise people? Florencia: "It really upsets me when people waste food, and are disrespectful of food. I remember when I used to eat things that were different, like Spanish food, and people would say ‘Ewwww, what’s that?’ That kind of thing really upsets and annoys me. I’m very sensitive about it. Even at the studio, when we get catered dinners and people are complaining, it ticks me off. I feel since there are so many people that have nothing, I think you should just be grateful."

If you could have lived in any historical period, when would it have been? Florencia: "I would love to have lived in the 60’s. The day my sister was born was the day Kennedy was shot. Because she wasn’t born here, my mom talks about being so amazed by how people reacted - the weeping and the incredible mourning."

Florencia comments on the connection between violence on TV and in films, and the recent school killings.... "I think there's a correlation, but the nature of the correlation is complex. The fact that more people have gun's in today's world is so much of it. And a lot of that is also the glorification of having a gun, in TV and film. Which is not to say there should be any sort of censorship. Art serves a function to release a lot of that tension, and it's a way to gauge where we're at as a society. It's a pretty violent, cynical, horrible world that we're in right now."

What prime-time show would you like to appear on? Florencia: "I love NYPD Blue. A lot of people who I went to grad school with at NYU guest star on it, and the characters are usually great. In a cool way, it's like repertory theater. I think it's a great show."

When that happens.... "sometimes it freaks me out a little bit, because I don’t know what the fans expect of me," Lozano admits. But she has learned that fans love it when they spot their favorite soap stars... "I sense that people are excited about Téa and Todd, and that makes me happy. It makes me think that we’re doing something right - something that’s touching people, and that’s a great feeling."

Florencia Lozano and boyfriend, actor Christopher Welch, spent much of their vacation on the road.... "Chris' aunt lives in Toledo, Ohio, and has a lake house up north in Michigan," she says. "We had a real middle-America vacation. It was hilarious." Lozano also says she learned something about her boyfriend she never knew before... "Chris has road rage! I've never seen him like that before. It's definitely his dark side. Get him behind the wheel of a car and he would get so angry about things," she reveals.

"It's been pretty difficult," she reports. "For example, something was wrong with the printer cable." I thought it would be difficult," she explains. "If I thought it would be easy, and had approached it that way, it would probably have been a lot easier." "Téa For Who?" .... Now that her onscreen love, Todd, has left town due to Roger Howarth's departure, Florencia Lozano (Téa) is looking forward to playing some scenes with the girls. "I'm really enjoying the scenes they have me doing with Patricia [Mauceri, Carlotta] and Erika [Page, Roseanne]," Lozano smiles. "I'm hoping they really explore the relationship between Roseanne and Téa because they have a lot of family issues to work out." Does Lozano think Téa will be seeing a new love soon? "Téa's throwing herself into her work and trying to forget Todd," Lozano says. "I think they should wait a while before she gets involved again. Otherwise it would cheapen the feelings she had for Todd." And what about the fact that she's seen a lot of Max lately? "Max presents an interesting posibility," Lozano grins. "Max tries to joke his way out of things and is someone Téa is not used to, so who knows?"

It’s an old saying, and one held true by Florencia Lozano (Téa), who cherishes the challenge of finding new ways to make her scenes sing... "That’s the thing about acting. When you’re rehearsing over and over, how do you make it new every time? Well, it is new every time, because it’s the first time you’ve done it that time", the actress explains. In fact, Lozano sees each new take as a golden opportunity rather than a tiring annoyance. "I love it when we screw up, because we get another chance to do it, and every time it’s a different scene." But don’t get the actress wrong - her pride and joy is, and always will be, delivering the best performance she has to give. "It makes me feel really happy when I feel like I kicked ass in a scene!"
