Dean Coldren - Class of 1967 was also killed in Vietnam.

Friday, 26 May 2006 - 11:38 PM EDT

Name: John Gammon

Yeah, don't leave Boobie-Dean off the list of Vietnam dead.
Officially in CHS jargon he was Eldean, Eldon Dean Coldren, or something like that. A lookSee at a Vivacity will set it straight for you, but, to those of us who were his friends, he was Boobie-Dean. Even the girls new him that way.
I was home on an emergency leave from Vietnam in August of 1968 to attend my Mother's funeral. A couple of days later, while cruising the drag, just a couple of blocks west of the Dairy Hut, another car pulls aside. Leslie Beard hangs halfway out of the window as we slow to about 15 mph to hear what he wants to tell us.. "Hey, did you hear about Boobie-Dean? He was killed in Vietnam a couple of days ago."
I went back to Vietnam a week or so later for another 6 months. I have never trusted my government since. I never will either.

John Gammon
