[My Favourite Hannibal Posters]
*I had reserved some displays from 3 stores and Blockbuster. One store saved them and they called before they were done with them, but I got them anyway. The other 2 stores never called. Blockbuster didn't save the huge poster and display, but when my mom and I went in, they gave us huge posters that make up a giant banner. Very cool.
*Hidden Song: Put in Disc 2 of the Special Edition Hannibal DVD-select the Breaking The Silence option-hilight the Music option-click the Left button and highlight the two arrows on the left margin-hit Enter and it takes you to a Flash Frame video with frames made of the footage betwwen the time the director says "Cut" and the time the camera stops filming. The song is called "Clarice.
*It's funny. The Hannibal soundtrack has to be my most favourite CD of all time, yet I can't listen to it without feeling an emptiness. I think it's because watching the movie on the big screen, bigger than life, was so intense and you could just endulge yourself in the movie, and be there, within it. I never knew the answer to that "If you wre stranded on a desert island, which CD would you take?" question, but now I know for sure. I got a version of the Goldberg variations, and it does the same thing, gives me that same feeling. Something so soothing about it, so deep. Almost unexplainable. You Hannibal fans will know what I mean.
*I have never seen a movie in the theatre more than once until I saw Hannibal. Now, being a Tony fan, I was sure to go see it, but even the parts he isn't in are great. And the whole thing was done so classy, in my opinion. So dark and full of everything. SotL was done really well too, but I never saw it in the theatre, and who knows, maybe I woulda gone to see it over 20 times at the theatre. I did watch it just as much at home though. It doesn't have that same feeling as Hannibal though. Strange, such an odd attraction and no real understood reason. Ah, the mysteries of life.
*Some stores offering the reserved Hannibal DVD for $20 are also offering freebies. One of them is a serial killers DVD. Can't they think of anything better? A free poster perhaps? Something Hannibal related? I'm holding off to check out the other offers. At least the little reserve coupons are free, hehe!
*In the book, Hannibal has a black Jaguar. Being a Jag fan myself, I only wished they'd had that in the movie.
*I love a guy in glasses. I was dissapointed to see Dr. Fell only holding his glasses, in the scene before dealing with Pazzi, rather than wearing them. Although, if you look close enough, when he first comes up the stairs before giving his lecture, you can see what looks to be glasses, but he's too far away to see them clearly.
*There's movies that are over 3 hours long. Why'd they have to cut this one back so much? They left out some great stuff!
*I wanna see another Hannibal film. But, I don't want to see him killed off. I wanna be able to wonder what he's doing over the years.
*It took me 28 viewings of Hannibal to realize why he put on the gloves when he was helping Pazzi with the inventory suitcases.
*FOr some reason, I liked the SotL Lecter better than the Hannibal Lecter. He just seemed more coy and spooky in SotL. He was a lot different in Hannibal, but I guess he aged a bit and being free makes a difference. The piano playing and the cooking fit, but other scenes just don't have me feeling that same ol' Lecter from back in 1991. It's not something that's easily explained, but some of you know what I mean.
*When Hannibal is asking Pazzi some questions, he tells him to blink twice for yes and once for no, why couldn't Pazzi just nod for yes and shake his head for no?
