Hey, then it's eight years later! And he has a bigger part in "The Mummy Returns". And a new set of robes for his trip to London:). But before we get ahead of ourselves, our Arabic leader here is still in charge of guarding Hamunaptra, but low and behold! The Reincarnated Anuck-Su-Namun digs the whole place apart with eth help of a zealot group of guys who worship Imhotep! Then while in London, trying to enlist the help of Evy and Rick, finds out that Rick's son, Alex has put on the Bracelet of Anubis and has thusly started another Apocalypse ("You... Lighten Up!"- Rick O'Connell). Ok, but before they leave London he has to have his first Bus Ride after he helps Rick save Evy from Imhotep!  Then it's off to Egypt to board a balloon ship that will help them keep up with the bad guys and get to Am Sher before everybody else. He uses his falcon, Horus, to communicate with the other leaders of the twelve Med-Jai tribes (yup, Ole Ardeth here leads a total of twelve different tribes!), so they can keep up with them in case they fail and the Army of Anubis raises up from the sands nearby Am Sher.  After getting Rick and Evy to the Oasis, Ardeth leaves to join his men and battle the Army of Anubis. Not a bad fight scene and he looks great on a horse! The good guys of course win, and win big.

Ardeth Bay is an interesting character to say the least. A little secret here, he was to have died in the first movie and that final sequence where he scares poor Jonathan to death was added much later in filming. He didn't say much "The Mummy" and then in "The Mummy Returns" he couldn't keep quiet:). Not that I mind:)! Ardeth is a great hero character. He's not he swashbuckling-grab-your-attention type. Nope. He likes to sneak up on you! Now all we need is a map of all of his tattoos and him nekkid and we'll be set!
