Jordana Brewster was born in Panama City, Panama on April 26, 1980. She was then raised in London, England until the age of six. Her family moved to her mothers homeland of Brazil where they resided in Rio de Janiero for four years. Jordana became fluent in both the English and Portuguese languages. At age ten, Jordana moved to Manhattan, New York. For eight years she lived in New York, studying at a Catholic School for Girls, at Weist-Barron, and at the Professional Children’s School of NY.While studying at the Professional Childrens School, Jordana snagged a one-day replacement spot for the character Anita Santos on the soap "All My Children." She soon earned a role on "As The World Turns" as Nikki Munson-Graves. During her stint as Nikki, TV Guide voted Jordana as "One of the most beautiful women on television."

It did not take long for Jordana to get noticed by accomplished director’s Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk Til Dawn, El Mariachi) and Lynda Obst (The Fisher King, Contact).Rodriguez cast Jordana as a major part in his feature film "The Faculty" (released December 25, 1998) as Delilah Proffitt, the head cheerleader and editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. Jordana appeared on an MTV special about "The Faculty" called "Invasion of the Fright Films" and Tommy Hilfiger used the cast of "The Faculty" to advertise clothing. Because of these, Jordana has now appeared in many magazine ads.

Soon after "The Faculty" was released in theaters, it became known that Lynda Obst had signed Jordana Brewster to play a major role in her tv miniseries "The 60s" (aired February 7th and 8th 1999 on NBC.) This role was thought to be her last film before she was to attend college at Yale after having deferred for a year, but Adam Brooks (Practical Magic, French Kiss) picked her to play opposite Cameron Diaz in his movie adaptation of the book "The Invisible Circus" by Jennifer Egan. The film was completed in 2000, but had many release date changes. The film was finally released to a limited audience on February 2nd, 2001, but she attended it's premiere at the Sundance Film Festival one week before. Also during 2000, she signed to do Universal's 2001 movie "The Fast and the Furious" which is set to release the summer of 2001.

Jordana Brewster is now in Yale taking a variety of courses which include film studies, English, sociology, and electrical engineering.
