The growing love that Téa has for Todd brought true intensity to a storyline that was going nowhere and the addition of Florencia's character has brightened up this once dreary penthouse, where Todd lives. When Téa agreed to this contractual, platonic marriage, so that Todd would win sole custody of his daughter, Starr, fans thought it was destined to fail. However, as their connection grew stronger and we saw the pain in Todd's eyes and the need for Téa to keep the clan together, we knew there was something more to this story than just some more crazy antics to add to an already grizzly plot. Now the burning question is why does Téa continue to desire a man who treats her so wretchedly! Well, there's a perfect answer for that! Florencia retorts, "I think there's a lot about Todd that reminds Téa of her dad." This dedicated player has formulated a whole background for her character, so that she can explain why her character does what she does.

"To justify it for myself, I decided that Téa's mother moved out...she was very sick and moved out when she was very young, she always blamed herself for that...she appreciated how sensitive her father was as a human being." As a matter of fact, this is a pretty good explanation, but one thing is definite, Téa loves Todd! She explains, "I think Téa is very much in love with Todd and wants to change him, save him and have him open up to her and to himself."

As their relationship progresses, no matter how treacherous it may be, Florencia wants this marriage to be consummated. "Téa very much wants him in a sexual way, in an intimate way. I think that's sort of a metaphor for the rest of their relationship, so sex is one way of getting intimate...Ultimately, she wants an emotional intimacy and she feels that the physical intimacy is one way of getting them there," notes Florencia.

But, the fact is that breaking through to Todd emotionally is a task that few people are qualified to do. Will Téa be the person that fits the bill? She responds, "I don't know. I think she's caught in the web and her self-esteem rides on her ability to change him,[to break through to Todd]." The character's ultimate goal is "to make her family happy."

This storyline may seem difficult to pull off, but Florencia accomplishes all of it and more with the help of the talented Roger Howarth. Not to mention that she loves working with him. "His humor is great, great to relieve tension," explains Florencia about the hilarious quips that fly out of Roger's mouth on and off-screen.

"I feel like he cares about the characters and his character. So I go to the set and when we're acting, it's Téa and Todd. It's fun to know that I can play with him on that level and we can enter this world and play together."
