Her appeal goes way beyond the surface, straight to the heart of who she is. Thank her portrayer, Florencia Lozano, for that, She has proven Téa’s credibility, especially in the heartfelt scene in which she returned home from the hospital. Instead of allowing Todd to wallow in his own misery, she tried to pull him out of his darkness. As usual, he resisted opening up to her. But she didn’t allow him to retreat into himself yet again. It would have been easier for her to walk away, but she hung in there, and her perseverance paid off. Instead of begging him to confide in her, she granted him some distance, and wonder of wonders, he came around on his own. The actress was able to make her character two-dimensional in that her compassion for her husband stemmed from her own vulnerability. Téa can relate to Todd on a level that others can’t, and she has come to understand him better than anyone else - even Blair. That tolerance shows in Lozano’s keen portrayal of her alter ego’s manifold personality. Téa’s not just one of the good guys, she’s one of the best.
