This section of The Florencia Lozano Homepage is devoted to following the burgeoning theatrical career of the gifted actress, Florencia Lozano.
Florencia Lozano is an accomplished stage actress with many diverse and challenging theatrical roles under her belt. Her many early stage credits include: Antigone in Anouilh’s Antigone (Roundabout Theatre), Maria in Yerma (Arena Stage) and Ophelia in Hamlet (Colorado Shakespeare Festival). While at New York University (graduate acting program ’96), Florencia’s favorite roles included the Mother in Lorca’s Blood Wedding and the Woman in Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen… She has also worked at the Repertorio Espanol and with Intar’s young company. In addition to her very successful role as "Téa Delgado" on "One Life to Live," Florencia has appeared in the off-broadway comedy Lick, completed a successful and critically acclaimed run as "Rosaline" in the CalShakes 2000 production of Love’s Labours Lost. She most recently appeared as "Marcia Marie" in the successful Off-Broadway production of "Where's My Money", written and directed by John Patrick Shanley. After it's original run, the play was picked up for an addition run at the pretigious Manhattan Theater Club. She followed with the off-broadway production of Blood In the Sink, appearing as sheltered, suburban housewife "Kate." Next, Florencia kicked off 2003 by starring in the Labyrinth Theater's off-broadway political allegory hit, Dirty Story, as "Wanda," the graduate student who takes matters into her own hands. In the Spring of 2003, Florencia was the recipient of the Charles Bowden Actor Award by the New Dramatists in NYC. Florencia rounded out 2003 with an appearance in the National Actor's Theatre production of Luigi Pirandello's Right You Are as the mysterious "Signora Ponza" in December 2003. And having seen Florencia in Lick, Love’s Labours Lost, Where's My Money?, Blood In the Sink and Dirty Story and Right You Are, I can honestly say that she commands the stage when she is on with great presence, beauty, energy, wit, intelligence, emotion and talent. She "becomes" her characters and does so with much credibility, moving you to take notice and entertaining you thoroughly. The Florencia Lozano Homepage looks forward to bringing you the latest information and reviews of Florencia’s stage work.
