Chapter 17*~
Aaliyah fluttered her eyes open the
next morning and looked around her surroundings. She instantly knew where she
was. She knew this place very well now and that was starting to bother her. She
looked at the flowers around her and then at the familiar woman sitting next to
her. “Britney?”
“Hey Li.” She smiled and looked at
her. “I heard what happened, and so I decided to come see how you were feeling.
How are you feeling?”
“A little sore, but alright I guess.”
Aaliyah bit her lip. “Where’s Justin?”
“I sent him home to get some sleep. He
was here with you all night long. He wouldn’t leave your side, but I finally
convinced him that you would be fine here.” Britney smiled at her and rested
her head on her palms. “Girl you are like a magnet to bad things.”
“I know. I just have bad luck.”
Aaliyah laughed slightly. “How have you been?” Aaliyah asked and sat herself
up.
“I’ve been pretty good.” She shrugged.
“Busy as usual.” She looked over at her flowers and smiled. “You’re really
liked, you have so many flowers.”
“I know.” She smiled and looked
through the cards. “Wow Drew was here too?” She shrugged and looked through the
rest of the cards. “Samantha?”
“Sam sent you flowers? What does the
card say?”
“I hope you feel better?? Yeah right,
you have got to be kidding me.” Aaliyah threw the card to the side and
shrugged.
“Sam has always been a bitch.”
“I figured as much. I haven’t liked
her since day one. She always was trying to cause me some type of grief.” Aaliyah shrugged. “But you know Justin. Totally
oblivious to the fact that she’s evil.”
“That’s Jay for ya.” She smiled. “Are
you hungry?”
“Kind of...”
“How about I see if I can take you out
for a little bit. You know get some food.”
“That would be great. I’m kind of
scared of the hospital anyway.”
“Great. I’ll be right back.”
Aaliyah nodded and smiled. She walked
away and smiled slightly. She had been friends with Britney for years now but
lately with their schedules they hadn’t talked much. Justin wasn’t so sure
about their relationship, but they didn’t care because they knew the truth.
They knew what was really going down.
~*1 hour later*~
“So are you still considering moving?”
“Yeah, I’m just feeling like it’s the
best thing to do right about now.” Aaliyah shrugged and looked down into her
glass of water. “I just think that it would be better you know for the kids.”
Britney nodded and bit her lip. “Yeah
lord knows those kids need a safe place cuz it seems like you and Justin just
attract bad attention. Why do you think all of these people from you all’s past
are coming back all of a sudden?”
“I don’t know, I guess they just know
that everything was going ok and so now they feel like they have to ruin our
lives because they’re un happy. Well you know what, that’s their problem not
mines.”
“Speaking of Jay here he comes.”
“Britney?”
“Oh come on, you act like you never
saw me before.” Britney looked at him and then at Aaliyah who was laughing.
“I’m just surprised to see you that’s all.”
He hugged her and kissed Aaliyah. “Lili, how do you feel?”
“A little sore but good. My side
hurts.” Aaliyah let out a soft sigh as she felt his hands on her shoulders and
smiled. “Thanks.”
“Welcome.” Justin smiled. “So you’ve
been here ever since early this morning?” He asked and looked at Britney who
nodded.
“Yep, just been keeping Li company.”
“And I’ve enjoyed her company.”
Aaliyah smiled at Britney. “Where are the kids?”
“With your mother in the city.”
“Ah,” Aaliyah nodded and ran her
fingers through her hair. “It just never ends does it?” Aaliyah looked at them
with a smile.
“I guess it doesn’t. I guess it doesn’t.”
