Chapter 7*~

~*1 Year Later*~

“Aaliyah, honey you need to get up.”  Aaliyah groaned as she flipped over and pulled her pillow up over her head and tried to focus out his voice, but it wasn’t working quite well. “Aaliyah, we’re going to be late for Catalina’s parent teacher conference.” Aaliyah sat up quickly and looked him in his face. “What!? What time is it?”

“Eleven fifteen. Damn...what happened to you? You look like hell warmed over.”

“I didn’t get any sleep, but thanks for the compliment.” Aaliyah rolled her eyes and fell back again. “I don’t wanna get up. I don’t wanna go, and frankly you can’t make me either.”

“You know what. I hoped it wouldn’t come down to this, but you better get your cute little ass up or else.”

“Or else what? You’re all talk, no action.”

“You know what, that’s it.” Justin grabbed her by her waist and lifted her up and threw her over his shoulder. “You wouldn’t get up and get ready, so I’m about to make sure you get ready.”

“Nooooo, you can’t make me!” Aaliyah laughed and kicked her feet at him.

“Girl, I will do you like the kids, and lock the doors and make sure your ass gets dressed.”

“Ooooh, I’m so scared...big bad Justin is going to make me get dressed. So what.”

“Oh, so you think I’m playing, with you?” He sat her on the bathroom sink countertop and removed her shirt and threw it to the side. “I knew this would happen, so that’s why, I already got your bathwater ran, so that you can get in, and then go with me to Catalina’s parent teacher conference.”

“Ugh, you are so mean.” Aaliyah said and folded her arms over her chest. “I hope you fall out a window.”

“See, you’re constantly trying to push me out a window.”  Justin laughed. “We should have bought a house without windows. Cuz I can see already that you’re going to try and push me out a window.” He pushed her hair out of her face and watched as she stood up. “Go ahead and go get ready. I’m gonna go and check on the kids, and when I get back, you better be in this tub, or else it’s gonna get ugly.”

          “Ooooh, I’m so scared.”

“Right, you gonna make me come over there in a second.” Justin watched as she started laughing. “I ain’t playin with you girl, I’ll be back, and I will tap that, if you don’t be ready when I get back.”

“Then bring it, I ain’t scared of you.”

“You know what, then lets see if you’re all talk and no action.” Justin grinned and locked the door, slowly walking towards her.

          “You guys We’re back!”

“How did it go?” Carmen asked and walked up towards them. “Is Catalina in trouble?”

“Nah, they said she’s the perfect little angel.” Aaliyah smiled softly and picked up Catalina as she came running towards them. “They said that she’s the most well behaved child they have ever met.”

“Really?” Carmen smiled and looked at Catalina. “Well Cat, it looks like you won’t be in any trouble.”

“Yeah, she’s lucky, but I know someone who’s gonna be in some trouble.” Justin said and looked over at Aaliyah.

“Ooooh, Liyah, what you do this time?”

“Nothing, he just wouldn’t embrace my right to go back to sleep.”

“Ah, I see, Jake does the same thing.”

“Well if yall weren’t so damn lazy then...”

“We will push you out that window Jay. So I would watch it if I were you.” Aaliyah said and smiled widely.

          “Ok...well I’m quiet, I said nothing...”

Carmen laughed as Justin walked off. “That’s your husband, and you babies daddy.”

“Whatever,” Aaliyah laughed. “He’s...unique, in his own way.”

          “Ah,”

“So, where’s Viera and Andra?” Aaliyah asked as they walked into the living room. Andra-Li was their youngest daughter at three months old, and she was adorable, but knew how to work your nerves if you weren’t paying attention to her.

“Andra is in her play pin in the living room, and Viera is asleep. You know the girl likes to sleep, just like you.”

Aaliyah nodded. “Speaking of sleep. I wanna sleep. I really do.”

“Girl you look like you need some sleep. You look like...”

“Let me guess, hell warmed over.”

“Man, how did you know I was gonna say that.”

          Aaliyah shrugged. “I’m psychic.”

“Right...” She laughed. “Girl, get some sleep, and I’ll help Jay with the kids.”

          “Alright thanks,”

            “Anytime Li, Anytime.”
