8.20.02 Kelly sang her heart out tonight in the 80*s and 90*s music performances. For her 80*s performance, Kelly sang "It's Raining Men". For her 90*s selection, she chose Celine Dion's "I Surrender". I was especially impressed by "I Surrender"...it was powerful and gave me the chills! What a beautiful song, and what a perfect song for Kelly!

8.21.02 Kelly is safe! However, Tamyra Gray, whom I believed would be in the final showdown with Kelly, was eliminated. Everybody remember to VOTE for Kelly next week, we want to see her go all the way to number 1!




The final 3...



8.27.02Kelly ROCKED tonight! She sang Celine's "Think Twice" as her choice, and the judges picked a song Mariah had re-done in the mid-90's, "Without You". If Kelly's voice was tired, there was no sign of it. She sang like an angel, and Simon said, "You are the best singer in this competition." Whoa.

8.28.02Goodbye, Nikki...even though I'm not a big ol' Nikki fan or anything, it's always sad to see a contestant go. I guess those 500 or more votes for Kelly we called in from my dorm room helped!! We couldn't let what happened to Tamyra happen to Kelly! Kelly and Justin will be performing next week in the Kodak Theatre to see who the American Idol is (we all know it's Kelly, anyway!). It's going to be 2 hours long, I'm so excited! GO KELLY!
