Fox River Grove
Fox River Grove began life as a pleasant summer resort destination for weary Chicagoans. Cottages and hotels sprang up, and sporting clubs from the city chose the village for their summer headquarters. The Norge Ski Jump and Fox River Picnic Grove were popular vacation destinations early in the 20th century. Visitors found the community so delightful that they decided to become permanent residents. The village was especially popular among families with Bohemian ancestry.
Fox River Grove was incorporated in 1919.
