Can I use my own avatar?
Yes, through two methods--
Personal Avatars: This option allows you to upload a picture from your computer to use as an avatar. (Simply select the file in the space provided in your profile.)
External Avatars: This option is used to link an avatar that is online to be displayed next to your posts. (Simply select enter the URL in the space provided in your profile.)
If you have questions or need help, Rhy, Totenkopf, and SanryoPrincez are available. Simply send a PM to one of them.
Please note AG's Avatar Guidelines:
The avatar must be 48x48 pixels.
The avatar must have a 1-3px black border.
The avatar must be in .gif format.
The avatar should be anime-related.
The avatar must not be grossly offensive.
How do I get a member title?
There are automatically-granted member titles that will advance as your post number rises. However, you'll note that many members have custom titles--custom titles are only granted to members with a +1 (Cozy) member rating.
How do I get a cozy rating?

What is that face under my avatar and member title?
That face represents your "karma" or "member rating" with the AG administration. Depending on whether your behavior is positive or negative, your rating will be positive or negative. Are you friendly, polite, and helpful? If so, you'll probably find your member rating rising (thus allowing you to receive a custom title). Do you act rude, disregard the forum guidelines, or conduct yourself inappropriately? If so, you'll probably find your member rating dropping--toward banning.
Why do Ex, Adi, and Rhy have a bar of flames? How can I get one?
The flames are a graphic automatically given to board administrators--the only way to have one is to be an administrator. However, as your post count rises, you will receive other graphics to illustrate your post count (at first, these will be dots, later you'll receive other types of graphics).
I checked the e-mail notification but I don't want to be notified by e-mail anymore! How can I make it stop?
Unfortunately, you can't. If you're having a problem with your inbox filling up with notifications of replies, your only option is to block the address--once you've selected the option, you cannot deselect it. You will have to wait for the thread to "die out."
I don't like my name anymore--can I change my member name without re-registering?
The only way to change your member name is to register as a new user. If you ask Rhy nicely, she'll be happy to grant your NEW name the same post count, member rating, and member title that you had before (if that is a concern to you).
How do I change the color of my text, link a site, post an image, etc. in my posts?
You do all those things by using IKonCode, which is a lot like HTML, but uses [ and ] in place of < and >. There is a help file in the forum detailing the different tags and how to use them.
Whose site is this?
Anime Genesis Forums a part of Anime-Genesis.Com, which is owned by Ex. Ex has administrator status at the forum and has given administrator status to both Adi Das and Rhy. Ex administrates Adi and Rhy who administrate the board in general, while the various moderators take care of specific forums, threads, and posts.
What is this "flood control"? How come I can't post!?
When the server is receiving many requests to post, it could easily become overwhelmed, so "flood control" is used to regulate the flood of posts that could conceivably be sent to the server at any given time. This manifests itself to you through a 30 to 45 second wait before you can post again after having made one post. It happens to everyone and nothing is broken...you just have to wait.
How do mods become mods? Can I become a mod--or how about so-and-so?, s/he'd make a good moderator!
Different times at AG have called for different measures--some moderators applied for their positions, others were specially contacted and asked if they'd like to moderate. Current policy dictates that if moderators are needed, the current staff will dicuss possible candidates, with the final decisions being made by the administrators.
I have to leave for a while--will my account get deleted?
Most probably not--AG's administrators don't typically prune members, especially not those who have posted. However, if we do prune members, typically only accounts that have been inactive for 2 or 3 months are deleted.
I tried to change my e-mail/password in my profile, and now I can't log into my old account!
If this happens, simply create a new, temporary name to PM one of the administrators (generally Rhy or Adi Das) or post a topic in the Contact Staff forum and one of the admins will help you out.
I'm having a problem with a moderator--s/he did/said something I object to!
The appropriate response to this--if you object to a comment a moderator has made or an action a moderator has taken is to first PM the moderator with your concern. If that doesn't resolve things to your satisfaction, contact one of the admins and explain what the problem is. Don't post a thread about it.
What are those other titles underneath some members' member titles...like "Fanartist" or "Staff"?
Certain contests run by the moderators in their forums (such as the Fanart forum) are rewarded by receiving a title such as "AG Gold Fanartist" as a type of recognition. And, occasionally, because of extreme helpfulness in a certain area, a member is made a "staff" member to help with something specific (such as SanryoPrincez to help with avatars).
