How do I log onto the javachat?
First, direct your browser to: http://chat.webmaster.com/chat.htm?@channel=%23ag. If you use Windows XP and want to use the java chatroom, you should visit: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/download.html to a download the Java Virtual Machine.
When the page loads, you will first see:
You may or may not want to choose the "Light Version."
If not, simply press the button. If so, check the box
and then press the button.
When the javachat loads, you will first see:
Don't bother entering anything at this screen.
Just let it continue going.
The javachat will connect to the server:
You may enter a nickname at this time, but the javachat is not finished
going through the steps of connecting to AG's channel.
The javachat will enter the #ag channel:
Currently, whatever you type into the message box will become your nickname,
if you haven't entered one already. Try to pick something unique--
many nicknames are already taken.
If you enter a nickname that is taken:
The chat will notify you that the nickname is owned by someone and ask for the
password. If you do not know the password, then you will either be booted
(that's not supposed to happen, but sometimes it does), or your nickname will be
changed to something like "Guest20394." At that point you should type in
/nick Newnickname (replacing "newnickname" with a different nickname).
