"The television screen
has become the retina
of the mind's eye."
"The battle for the mind of North America
will be fought in the video arena, the Videodrome."
-Prof. Brian O'Blivion
Welcome to the Machine
"What did you dream?
It's alright we told you what to dream."
"I'm running like an express train here,
I don't know how to stop."
"They call it Riding the Gravy Train."
"So, so you think you can tell..."
You'll need:
1) One copy of the NTSC (North American)
video version of Videodrome. (or digital disc)
2) One copy of "Wish you were Here"
by Pink Floyd, preferably digital.
- Pause the video with the sound of Max closing the door to the limo, approximately half way through.
- Start "Welcome to the Machine". (track two)
- Unpause the video simultaneously with the sound
of the second door closing in the beginning of the song.
(Notice that there are two doors which open
and close in the beginning of the song.)
Make sure you unpause with the second
door closing. (that's important)
What follows is a real treat.
"You'll have to learn to live in a very strange world."
The synch lasts for the length of time that
Max is under the control of Spectacular Optical.
And, yes, you should be hallucinating. Enjoy!
