P. K. Limited
Originally signed to the Colgems label as a band called "The Loved Ones", "P. K. Limited" was Marty Kaniger (lead vocals/ rhythm guitar) and
Dan Peyton (backing vocals/lead guitar). The duo were a Columbia-Screen Gems song writing team that had their music recorded by Sajid Kahn,
The Partridge Family, Bobby Sherman, Brian Hyland, and Dora Hall. They had five singles on the Colgems label, as well as several of their songs
appearing on the "Getting Straight" soundtrack. The team of Peyton/Kaniger also did some backing vocals for the Monkees in 1969, most notably on
"I Didn't Know You Had It In You Sally (You're a Real Ball of Fire)". Their version of "Shades of Gray" managed to climb
some of the local radio charts. "P. K. Limited" released the final single on the Colgems label. When Colgems was absorbed by Bell Records, Peyton and Kaniger were still under contract and produced one single on
the Bell label, under the name "P. K.". Much of their music was produced by David Gates, of the famed 70's lite rock band "Bread". Marty Kaniger went
on to form "Big Daddy" in the late 70's.
