John Lennon
Am I crazy or am I a genius? I don't think I'm either." - John Lennon
The great John Lennon came diving out of his mom on October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England. His parents divorced when he was young and he grew up with his Aunt Mimi. He became a troublesome prankster and always loved getting into trouble. At the ripe age of sixteen Lennon started a band called Quarry Man. This is where he met Paul McCartney and asked him to join the group. McCartney accepted the very next day and then there were two. He came up with the name The Beatles from a vision he had had as a child. He began drawing disgusting deformed pictures of people as a young adolescent. This was mainly sparked by the death of his mother. His teachers thought he might not be able to get into college since his grades weren't the best in the world. He did end up going to college, but unfortunatly they didn't allow any of that damn Rock and Roll. This college is the site where he met his first wife Cynthia Powell. They were married in August of 1962 and produced a son who they named Julian. The Beatles were doing remarkably well, and were easily one of the most popular bands ever. In 1966 John met Yoko Ono and he and his wife Cythia were divorced. Just three years later the Beatles broke up after Paul McCartney announced his leaving. John then went on solo and produced his own album...Imagine and it was his best album after the breakup of the Beatles. In good ol' '69 Lennon and Ono did a series of rock concerts preaching Peace and Love. All the money from the concerts were given to the needy. In 1975 Ono gave birth to John's second son Sean. Then he put his whole career on hold to raise his son. After the 5 years he produced a new album called Double Fantasy which did remarcably well.
John Lennon was shot in the back while in front of his apartment complex in New York while he was in the midst of releasing the new album. He died too young, as so many do, at the age of 40 in Roosevelt Hospital on Devenber 8th, 1980 from the multiple wounds he recieved in the back.
"He made a lot of sense." - (Sir) Paul McCartney
