Bradly Nowell

Bradley Nowell was born on February 22, 1968. As a child Brad was very hyper, and was soon given the first drugs he would ever take, those that doctors had perscribed for his ADD(Attention Deficit Disorder). As he grew older, he fell into the trap of several more drugs... everything from marijuana to cocaine. Sublime had thier first gig during 1988 in Long Beach, CA., and they were immediatly a small scale hit. People from all around the Long Beach area would invite them to play at their parties and get togethers. As the band's popularity grew, so did Brad's drug problem, especially his use of heroin. In 1993 Bradley met Troy, his soon to be wife. In 1995 Brad learned that Troy was pregnant and he immediatly tried to clean up his life. That idea didnt last long. Before anyone could stop him he was back on heroin, but everyone knew it was the drug's choice not his. Brad's son Jake was born in 1995. Everyone was sure Brad was experiencing a complete turn around in his life, and would be off heroin for good but on May 25, 1996 in a San Francisco hotel room, Brad was found dead from an OD of his rival, heroin. Brad was an extremely talented guitar player, composer, and singer, but like so many others in the music world, his downfall was in a drug, and it robbed him of everything he loved. Sleep well Brad.
