She was born and spent most of her life in and around Constantinople. In that city she was highly respected as being one
of the richest people in the city. As such, she
renovated a number of churches in Contantinople,
including the family church of St. Euphemia, and
between 524 and 527 built the Church of Saint
Polyeuktos, which was built in direct imitation of
the famous Temple of Solomon in Palestine. In
building the Church of Saint Polyeukos, she aroused
the envy of Constantinople's most powerful church
builder, the Emperor Justinian.
Anicia Juliana married
Flavius Areobindus Dagalaiphus Areobindus. With
whom she had a son named
Olybrius. She died in either 527 or 528.
