Valentinian III was elevated to the position of
Western Roman Emperor in 425 and remained in that
position until his assassination in 455. He was
largely an ineffective ruler and for a more detailed

Valentinian III married his cousin,
Licinia Eudoxia in 437, and had two daughters,
Placidia and
Eudoxia.
