I think movies have a large impact on who we are. There are movies that don't mean anything to one person, yet to another it cuts them to the core and makes them feel as if they are watching there life on screen. There is something about seeing a movie that reminds you of yourself and your life that is indescribable. The idea that there is someone else out in the world that knows exactly how you are feeling and can put it into a story for everyone to understands puts people beside them-self. Well that's what it does to me. I can see what it is I want and what I dream about at night. What girl does not want the "Ever After" story? A Prince to come and take us away from our boring life’s. In "If Lucy Fell" a shrink who could use some mental help herself finds true love in a long time friend. Teen pressures and a different way of dealing with them in "Heathers" and "Pump up the Volume." Goblins, fairies and red fuzzy things form "Labyrinth" jump and dance their way through my imagination. I think for my generation movies are a way of identifying with what we are feeling and going through everyday. The provide an escape from our daily life and if nothing else are fun.
I was not sure what to do with my movies page. I was just letting it sit here and fester, so I thought I'd make into a review type page. Well not so much review, just movies that I saw and what they made me think or feel or..whatever!
The other night I went to see Very Bad Things. Can we say twisted? I had seen the preview, and now realize that the movie is nothing what the preview lead me to believe. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it, it was just not what I thought it would be!
I went to see Varsity Blues the other night. It was really bad. I could have written the script...you know everything that was going to happen and how things were going to turn out. Don't bother!!
