Well, BJ lost out on the Lockridge scholarship to that jerk Rich Landers.
Oh Sawyer, you were so certain she'd win.
Everybody was sure because she deserved it.
Why do you suppose he was chosen?
I don't know but it doesn't make too much sense to me. I mean, Rich Landers is smart and everything. He is one of those guys that never has to crack a book. But...I'll tell you, that guy is not even in BJ's league when it comes to talent. I don't know I just feel really bad for her.
I wish there is something I could do.
There is, you could come back to me to my folk's house and help me lend a little moral support to BJ.

My parents planned this party for BJ to celebrate her getting the scholarschip. It's going to be really difficult for her to tell them that she didn't get it. All I want is for you to be there, that's all.
