I learnt of her fine life from a recent book, "Between Silk and Cyanide", by her codemaker, Leo Marks, and from a website dedicated to her memory, at www.tinyurl.com/noorsociety I understand from the latter that there is a campaign to commemorate her heroism by the issue of a postage stamp. That seems to me to be a laudable aim. May I ask your newspaper and readers to support it? Yours faithfully, David Broadhurst Reader in Physics The Open University, UK |
