My personal experience with both Atlanta, GA and Florida rescue was a positive one. The people who work in the rescue were great. I will attempt to give you some information regarding Atlanta Rescue.
Atlanta Doberman Rescue is run by Judy Felton. She operates an indoor kennel with a fulltime staff to care for and do some training and socialization with the rescues. All dobes are up-to-date on shots, have been spayed or neutered, and are in good health and cleared on temperment before being eligible to join your family. I was lucky enough to take home Myles from her one year ago and he has been a joy. He is a fawn colored dobe.
Dobes, as well as all breeds, are given up for many reasons, a death in the family, financial burdens, a new baby, moving, or simply no time to spend. There is a general misconception that rescues are just the "bad" ones, but unfortunately we live in a disposable world. Many rescues are good, loving, and devoted animals. Given a second chance, they can give love and adoration, companionship, and a sense of security.
