COURTENEY COX is Gale Weathers, an ambitious tabloid-TV reporter who comes to Woodsboro to investigate the murders and ends up capitalizing on them. Could she be the killer... or is she the next victim?

Cox is known to television audiences for her role as the sweetly neurotic Monica Geller on the hit television sitcom "Friends." Her other TV credits include a small role as a debutante named Bunny on the popular CBS series "As the World Turns," "Family Ties," as Michael J. Fox's girlfriend Lauren and "Misfits of Science."

Cox's feature film credits include "Masters of the Universe," "Cocoon: The Return," "Mr. Destiny," "Blue Desert," Miramax's "The Opposite Sex" and the successful "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," in which she played Jim Carrey's boss.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Cox first gained notice dancing with Bruce Springsteen in his 1984 video "Dancing in the Dark."
